In my previous article, I've been exploring the details of total losses in transmission lines and the extra losses caused by SWR1. I've created a loss calculator to help users effectively determine their cable losses. This project required meticulous data collection from various cable manufacturers, focusing on obtaining the K1 and K2 constants, which are critical for accurate loss calculations.

Building on this research, I created a graphing tool to visually compare the attenuation of different coaxial cables. This tool leverages the collected K1 and K2 constants, allowing users to make informed decisions when selecting cables based on their specific requirements.

The tool simplifies the comparison process by graphing this data, making understanding the performance differences between various cable types easier.

I really hope this tool helps you choose the right cable for your needs.

Note

Loss depends on length. You can use the formula below or the calculator in my previous article to calculate the actual loss for a particular length.

$$ \text{Line Loss}_{dB} = \left( \frac{\text{graph value}}{100_{feet}} \right) \times \text{actual lenth}_{feet} $$
